From rollers and curlers to a basin cut or a French twist the myriad ways we may interpret hair and its culture are revealed in an exhibition entitled simply “Hair”. With specially commissioned photography, historical documents and fashion plates and “talking heads” telling us their hair stories; the exhibition is designed to stimulate discussion and introduce the year of hair events at London College of Fashion.
The personal attachment to hair is explored through a range of people as well as those in all the diverse spectrum of industries surrounding the business of hair. A variety of interviews, including many from London College of Fashion, tell emotive and evocative family and professional anecdotes associated with hair.
Hair – an exhibition introduces us to both the everyday and the creative; the techniques and the history.
