
Open conducting workshop led by Stuart Stratford of Opera Holland Park, followed by the opportunity for you to conduct a string quartet from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama for 1 minute!
Born in Preston, Stuart Stratford read music at Trinity College, Cambridge, and studied conducting at the St. Petersburg Conservatoire.
Opera engagements include: Don Giovanni, Satyagraha and Palace in the Sky for English National Opera, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, I Pagliacci and Swanhunter for Opera North, The Turn of the Screw, Falstaff and I Pagliacci for English Touring Opera, La bohème at the Royal Albert Hall, Tobias and the Angel and Ion for the Almeida Opera Festival; Candide for Birmingham Opera Company; a Channel 4 film of The Eternity Man in Australia, Mercadante’s I Normanni a Parigi with the Philharmonia Orchestra for Opera Rara. Concerts with the London Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, City of London Sinfonia, Manchester Camerata, Orchestra of Welsh National Opera and Orquestra Nacional do Porto.
