This illustrated talk Shaun Cole, London College of Fashion, author of The Story of Men’s Underwear will give a 'brief' overview of the stylistic developments of men's underwear from the earliest loincloths to the latest moisture wicking microfibre trunks.  The talk will uncover how shirts and T-shirts emerged from underwear to outerwear, how cumbersome woollen one piece union suits were replaced with Y-fronts and how men's underpants transformed from 'unmentionables' to be spread across magazine pages and advertising hoardings.
